Our trip to Utah for spring break was a lot of fun and now we're all tired out! Aubree helped us pack, and then we left late Sunday night. We drove through the night while the kids slept. I highly recommend this if your able to drive at night, it was so nice! We arrived at our destination, South Jordan Utah, Monday morning at 11:00 am. We spent the rest of the day catching up on sleep! Grandpa and my brother Patrick joined us Monday night.
Tuesday Quentin and I went to the Jordan River Temple while Grandpa and Patrick watched the kids. We attended a special session with my brother Elder Gilmore. I was so excited to see him! Doesn't he look good? Grandpa, Patrick and the kids were waiting outside the temple when we were done to see Brett. They were very excited to see him too. The rest of the day, the boys went swimming with Grandpa at the hotel pool.
Wednesday we went to Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Brett came with us for the day and so did another elder, Elder Schneder. We toured the Beehive house where Bringham Young & his family used to live. We took pictures in front of the Salt Lake Temple, we went up to the 26th floor of the Church Headquarters building and saw the beautiful view of the valley. We also toured the breathtaking conference center! In the hall of prophets, Ezra had his picture taken in front of Ezra Taft Benson's head, and Dylan and Ezra had their pictures taken in front of Joseph Smith's head. We were also able to go the Church History Museum. Wednesday night we attended a testimony meeting where all the missionaries going home bore their testimonies. It was a very special experience.
Thursday morning, we parted ways with Grandpa, Patrick and Brett. We spent the day with the kids at the Hill Aeronautic Museum in Ogden, Utah. The kids had a blast looking at all the old war planes, playing with a flight simulator and having their pictures taken in a cardboard bomber plane. You can't really tell in the pictures, but Dylan, Ezra and Aubree each had their pictures taken in it. We met up with my friend Jill later that day and stayed the night with them. The kids had fun, relaxing and playing with her kids. After the kids went to bed, we had fun playing games with Jill and her husband Blaine. We played Settler's, we had played it before with Trent and Rachel and had a lot of fun. It is our new favorite game, and we will be owning one soon!
We left for home on Friday and had a pretty good ride home, despite the fact, that there were a few bathroom accidents in the car, and we had to stop at almost every rest stop. We made it home late Friday night and were able to sleep in our own beds.
