Before Aubree was born, I always knew my first born was going to be a boy; and he was. When I was pregnant with Ezra, I was so hopeful that he was going to be a girl. I even made the ultra sound tech check each time I had an ultra sound just to be sure; but in my heart I knew he was a boy. When I got pregnant with Aubree I knew without a doubt I was having my girl! As much as I wish I had two girls instead of just one, I am so thankful that I got at least my one daughter. As energetic as she is, even more so than my boys I wouldn't take that back for anything. I love that I have someone to be girly with.
Last night was our first annual Mother Daughter Relief Society activity. It was a pajama party theme. It was the biggest turn out we've had for an event all year; there was something like over 100 combined mothers and daughters who attended! It was so much fun and had rave reviews!
We came in our pajamas, ate pizza and junk food, made Popsicle stick picture frames, painted nails, played limbo, twister, WII dance for kids, and even had mother daughter pictures taken (still to come).

One of my favorite stations was this one; draw a mother or draw a daughter. The night was filled with fun memories with my daughter and our friends.
At the beginning of the night we played a song called My Mother, My Daughter by Janice Kapp Perry. The words beautifully sum up a relationship between a mother and and a daughter. My only regret was that my mother wasn't there too.
1. Sometimes when I see you, my daughter, my own,
My heart fills with love seeing how you have grown.
Your hands, once so small, have remained clean and pure.
Your heart filled with love helps my own soul endure.
The prayers that you speak give me faith to go on,
And the smile in your eyes gives me hope for the dawn.
Then I wonder why and give thanks that I was chosen to be your mother.
Daughter:
2. I’ve watched you, dear mother, each day of my life;
I’ve seen how you smile through the joy and the strife.
I’ve needed your love and have known you were there.
I’ve seen how you help to bring answers to prayers.
The world that surrounds me is blind and unsure;
But with you as my mother, I’m safe and secure.
Then I wonder why and give thanks that I was chosen to be your daughter.
Mother:
3. The seasons come; the seasons go; and I see you grow.
The light of faith is in your eyes; I saw it long ago.
I weep at your sorrows, smile when life is fair.
I speak your name in each tender prayer.
I know the time will quickly come when I must let you go,
But seeds of truth within your heart were planted long ago.
So reach for your dreams, for ev’ry good thing,
depending on my love, my dear daughter.

So reach for your dreams, for ev’ry good thing,
Depending on my love, my dear daughter;
depend upon my love, my dear daughter.
Daughter on D.S. al coda:
depend upon my love, my dear mother.
